Travel Anywhere publishes travel guides at travelanywhere.blog. This page explains what we collect when you read the site or join our newsletter, who handles it, and how to have it removed.
What we collect
- Your email address, if you sign up for the Travel Anywhere Toolkit newsletter. We also record which page you signed up on and any campaign tags in the link you arrived from, so we can tell which guides people find useful.
- Usage data: the pages you visit, how you reached the site, your browser and device type, and an approximate location based on your IP address.
- Cookies and similar browser storage, set by us and by the services listed below.
We don't ask for your name, payment details, or anything else.
Who handles it
- beehiiv stores the newsletter list and sends our emails, including whether an email was opened and which links were clicked. beehiiv's privacy policy
- PostHog provides site analytics: pages viewed, links and buttons clicked, time on page, and whether readers see or use the newsletter signup form. It uses cookies and local storage. PostHog's privacy policy
- Google AdSenseshows ads on the site. Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your previous visits to this site and other sites. Google's advertising cookies let it and its partners show you ads based on those visits. You can turn off personalized ads in Google's Ads Settings, and opt out of other vendors' cookies at aboutads.info. See how Google uses information from sites that use its services.
- Travelpayouts loads a script on every page that manages our affiliate links. Some links go to travel partners such as Expedia, Booking.com and Trip.com: when you click one, the partner uses cookies to credit us if you book. We never see your booking or payment details.
- Vercel hosts the site and keeps standard server logs.
How we use it
- To send the newsletter you asked for. Signup is double opt-in: you get one confirmation email, and nothing else until you confirm.
- To see which guides and pages are useful, and improve them.
- To show ads and earn affiliate commissions, which keep the guides free to read.
We don't sell your email address or hand it to advertisers.
How long we keep it
Your email address stays on the newsletter list until you unsubscribe. After that, beehiiv keeps it marked as unsubscribed so you aren't emailed again; ask us and we'll delete it completely. Analytics and advertising data is kept by the services above under their own retention policies.
Your choices
- Unsubscribe with the link at the bottom of any newsletter email. It takes one click.
- Ask for your data, or have it deleted, by replying to any newsletter email or writing to msb04589@gmail.com.
- Block or clear cookies in your browser settings. The guides still work without them.
Depending on where you live, including the EU, the UK and California, you may have the right to access, correct, delete or export your personal data, and to object to how it's used. In California, advertising cookies like Google's may count as “sharing” personal information. You can limit ad personalization in Google's Ads Settings or by blocking third-party cookies in your browser.
Children
This site isn't aimed at children under 16, and we don't knowingly collect their information.
Changes
When this policy changes, we'll update the date at the top of this page.
